Combos are the number of times a player strikes at enemies continuously. If the player can achieve certain combo numbers, they can receive benefits. These benefits will last for as long as the combo isn't reinitialized or the user doesn't change maps, with the exception of Combo Medals.
A strike will count as part of a combo if it is applied three seconds before the last attack was made. If an attack is not made before this time, the combo will initialize although the benefits gained from it will be active until the player attacks again or changes maps. Attacks that miss will not be counted.
Combos will gradually increase EXP gained from killing monsters. The maximum bonus a player can receive through this method is 1.5x (100+ combo). The modifier will initialize if the player starts another combo or changes to another map.
